Glow To Go With This Fun Packed Trio Of Vitamin C Must Haves

31 Jan 2021 - By Stacy Lui

Can’t get enough of Vitamin C? From your skin to your lips, Seriously Fun kbeauty brand, I Dew Care, has got you covered with this affordable trio of fun packed Vitamin C products that will keep you looking your vibrant best!

Vitamin C in skincare has been trending for some time now and is most commonly found in serums but have also found their way into other types of skincare products. We were recently sent the Vitamin to Glow Vitamin C Trio Pack, $52 from I Dew Care, to try and boy did we have fun with them!

As a powerful antioxidant, Vitamin C is used in skincare for its protective as well as restorative qualities. Effective in neutralising environmental free radicals that can cause skin damage, Vitamin C also helps support collagen production and skin regeneration making it useful in reducing the appearance of acne scars and other skin imperfections.

Glow To Go

The Vitamin to Glow kit contains 3 products, a miniature Bright Side Up Vitamin C Serum, a miniature Say You Dew Vitamin C Moisturiser and a full size Plush Party Vitamin C Lip Mask. Beautifully wrapped in fun candy colours, this trio of Vitamin C skincare products are travel friendly and will fit into any vanity kit.

Vitamin To Glow Pack

Vitamin C products can be finicky and if you are just now introducing Vitamin C into your skincare routine then the Vitamin to Glow Trio Pack might just be an affordable way for you to try out Vitamin C in your skincare routine. You can read more about the dos and dont’s of Vitamin C skincare here or just read on for the 411 on this fun packed trio.

Bright Side Up Brightening Serum

Vitamin C in skincare is most commonly found in the form of serums and needs little introduction to most of us. The version of the Bright Side Up Brightening Serum that comes in this bundle is actually a half size version at 15ml (the full size version is 30ml and available at $52) and comes in a cute mini pastel-orange tinted bottle.

Upon opening the bottle, I was graced with a pleasant fruity scent from the Grapefruit and other Citrus Extracts. While the fruity scent was slightly stronger than what you would usually expect, it was not overpowering. If you are a fan of fruity and citrus scents then you would love the scent on this serum.

The consistency of this serum was jelly like and a little thicker than what I usually expect from serums these days. It felt concentrated and rich, and the applicator worked perfectly fine. 2 drops was sufficient for my whole face but as with most Vitamin C serums, it was a little sticky initially and needed a little gentle tapping before I felt it was fully absorbed.

Packed with Vitamin C, E and B5 to boost radiance, target acne scars and hyperpigmentation while evening skin tone. I was able to observe an almost immediate natural glow to my skin after application and overall, I was impressed with this serum.

My skin felt moisturised and refreshed through most of the day - working from home - without any reapplication and performs really well in cold and dry (air conditioned) environments. If you are looking for a light Vitamin C serum for the day, I would recommend the Illuminate Nutri-Serum Concentrate from Kumuya (at $119, quite a bit pricier).

Say You Dew Moisturising Gel + Cream

Next up was the Say You Dew Moisturising Gel + Cream. Like the Bright Side Up Vitamin C Serum, this was also a small miniature (30ml) bright yellow jar. The full size jar contains 50ml of this good stuff and sells at $56. Making the Vitamin to Glow Vitamin C Trio Pack at $52 a bit of a steal!

Say You Dew

This moisturiser contains 3 main active ingredients, antioxidant rich Lemon Extract and Vitamin C, that not only brightens skin but also helps promote collagen production, minimise skin imperfections and signs of premature ageing; and Banana Extract to help prevent moisture loss to keep your skin supple.

So the Say You Dew Moisturising Gel + Cream is an interesting one and I actually haven’t tested out a gel and cream moisturiser quite like this one. This moisturiser is actually two moisturisers, a light gel moisturiser infused with antioxidant rich Lemon Extract and Vitamin C and a second cream one with Banana Extract that helps prevent moisture loss.

A cute little spatula comes along with this moisturiser so that you can mix it together and scoop up this gel-cream mixture without sticking your fingers into the jar. Mixing the lovely gel and cream together took some time and was both a little heartbreaking and a little cathartic at the same time. What you get at the end of it though was a lovely light cream moisturiser.

Say You Dew

The thin creamy formulation (after mixing) is ideal as a morning (or day) moisturiser and suited for combination to oily skin types as it is absorbed quickly without leaving a greasy residue or heavy sensation over the skin. The light citrus scent with undertones of fresh banana was refreshing and brought to mind my last beach holiday.

If you are looking to achieve a natural dewy glow, the Say You Dew Vitamin C Gel + Cream in combo with the Bright Side Up Vitamin C Serum worked well for this tester and I would recommend trying them out.

Plush Party Buttery Lip Mask

Made with Cocoa Butter, Hibiscus Flower Extract and Vitamin C, the Plush Party Buttery Lip Mask comes in its original full sized version (12g). Contained in a cute little pinkish jar that will fit handily into any vanity pack or even your handbag, a little scoop is also provided and fits nicely in the inside of the jar making it convenient to carry around.

I only had one small complaint about the scoop and that is that the scoop is transparent and stored under the cover without being secured, so open the jar carefully lest you be dropping your precious little scoop and feeling around everywhere for it. It would have been nice if it had been designed to clip to the inside of the cover.

At first glance, it looks a little bit hard and waxy and you probably want to use the scoop provided so that it does not get stuck under your nails. However, the Cocoa Butter in this lip mask gives the lip balm a thick and buttery consistency and was surprisingly easy to apply.

This lip mask goes on almost colourless with a slight pinkish tint and has a texture between a very thick moisturiser and a soft waxy balm and before application. The Plush Party Vitamin C Lip Mask gives off a richer buttery scent with floral and citrus hints which was quite different from the previous two products in the Vitamin to Glow set.

Personally, I’m not a big fan of heavily scented or flavoured lip balms and masks but unless you stuck this up your nose, the scent was actually very mild and almost unnoticeable after application (on my lips) and I was fine with it. If sweet flavoured lip balms and masks are your thing, then you might want to look somewhere else.

I slapped on a generous amount of lip mask before I go to sleep and usually wake up in the mornings with some product left on my lips. The first time I used the Plush Party, I was so blown away by how soft and smooth my lips were the next morning after I had washed off the residual product that I spent 15 mins just pouting my lips in the mirror.

Plush Party

As someone with dry cracked lips, I am a bit of a sommelier of lip balms and masks having used  many different ones in the past. More often than not I have been left disappointed but every once in while you find an outstanding one like the Plush Party Vitamin C Lip Mask. Among the 3 products that came bundled in the Vitamin to Glow skincare set, the Plush Party was definitely my favourite of the three.

Final Thoughts

We all have different skin needs but regardless of you having tried these products out for about two weeks, apart from one minor annoyance that doesn’t affect the quality of the product (the dropping scoop), I can confidently say that these are very good Vitamin C products that are worth a try.

I loved how these products worked their magic on my skin, and while Vitamin C products can be a little on the stickier side, they were far from intolerable and actually took to my skin pretty well. If you suffer from dry skin or are already used to richer creams and products then this shouldn’t really bother you at all.

Whether you are newly introducing Vitamin C into your skincare routine or looking to achieve that healthy dewy kbeauty glow, you should definitely give these products a try. The Vitamin to Glow Skincare Set at $52, in particular, is actually value for money when you consider how much the full sized items cost.

So whether you are regularly using all 3 products or if you are looking to give all 3 a try for the first time, you’ll want to get this set.
